Job Summary

Qualifications
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification required.
- Successful completion of a basic arrhythmia interpretation course, including passing an EKG interpretation test prior to beginning position, required.
- EMT, paramedic, or 1 year experience as a CNA in a critical care nursing environment preferred.
- Basic Arrhythmia Recognition must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
What you will need to do:
- Safely and effectively performs cardiac monitoring.
- Documents all care and obtained information appropriately and accurately in the medical record.
- Continually monitors the ECG status of the patients and contributes data for the assessment of the patient, assuring the application of age specific standards.
- Makes it a priority to interact with the families in a warm and sincere manner as you seek to find out information or notate concerns.
- Acts in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure.
- Accurately measures, diagnoses, and post ECG rhythm strips.
