Monitor Technician - Central Telemetry - PT Nights with Benefits (7pm-7:30am)
Responsibilities
- Makes sure patients' heartbeats are being watched properly.
- Looks at the machine that watches patients and tells someone if something isn't right.
- Gets patients ready to go home and takes them off the watching machine.
- Takes pictures of the heartbeats from the watching machine.
- Checks that the watching machine is working well and safe.
- Knows what each patient needs and gives special care if needed.
- Communicates with patients, parents, or caregivers in a way they understand.
- Follows rules set by the hospital.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of work experience in health-related fields.
- At least 1 year of experience in cardiology-related fields.
- Completed a monitor technician course at a hospital and passed the HUMC Dysrhythmia Challenge Exam within 6 months of hiring.
- Experience with computers.
