Monitor Tech - Cardio Pulmonary Rehab (Per Diem, Temporary, Days)

Compensation Range: $23.20 - $29.69 per hour, based on applicable experience.

About the role

Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Monitor Technician provides observation, recognition, and documentation of cardiac rhythms, identifies normal and abnormal cardiac patterns, and reports findings. As a monitor technician, you will assist clinical staff by helping participants put on the monitor and collect and enter patient data from exercise sessions into the Rehab monitor system, including heart rate, blood pressure, RPE, and other exercise-related parameters. Abnormal findings are reported to clinical staff.

Requirements

• Basic Arrhythmia recognition course or equivalent course/experience (must pass the Basic Arrhythmia Recognition Course within six months of employment or challenge and pass the final exam to validate equivalent experience).
• Demonstrates 75% competence on proficiency exam during annual evaluation.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to interact professionally and communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients, and the public.
• Sensitivity to patient and family needs.
• Ability to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Analytical and grammatical skills for effective verbal and written communication.
• Proficiency in using computers for various support functions.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
