Responsibilities
- Select, set-up, calibrate and adjust monitoring equipment in accordance with physician orders.
- Ensure continued proper functioning of equipment; troubleshoot equipment problems as identified.
- Collect, transmit, and document pertinent patient data to the Registered Nurse (RN) with correct interpretations and interval measurements on each patient at required intervals every shift and with any significant rhythm change.
- Maintain current monitored patients in the system; confer with nursing staff to determine correct validation counts and alarm parameters for patients.
- Report alarms and changes of rhythm to RN staff.
- Greet, screen and process incoming unit/dept calls, patients, visitors, and messages.
- Transcribe physician orders, enter tests, and treatment requests into system.
- Assemble and maintain patient medical records including posting of results.
Qualifications
- Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience Preferred: 6 months of related experience.
- Certifications Required: AHA BLS
