Responsibilities

• Select, set-up, calibrate and adjust monitoring equipment in accordance with physician orders.
• Ensure continued proper functioning of equipment; troubleshoot equipment problems as identified.
• Collect, transmit, and document pertinent patient data to the Registered Nurse (RN) with correct interpretations and interval measurements on each patient at required intervals every shift and with any significant rhythm change.
• Maintain current monitored patients in the system; confer with nursing staff to determine correct validation counts and alarm parameters for patients.
• Report alarms and changes of rhythm to RN staff.
• Greet, screen and process incoming unit/dept calls, patients, visitors, and messages.
• Transcribe physician orders, enter tests, and treatment requests into system.
• Assemble and maintain patient medical records including posting of results.

Qualifications

• Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience Preferred: 6 months of related experience.
• Certifications Required: AHA BLS
