Responsibilities

• Provide advanced ECG monitoring with a focus on assessment of ECG strips and arrhythmia interpretation.
• Monitor alerts from patient wearable devices, including escalation to a Virtual RN.
• Troubleshoot monitoring problems, identify probable causes, and seek solutions.
• Identify and respond to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes, initiate codes, record rhythms during codes, and perform continuous EKG monitoring with accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias, including interval measurements.
• Respond appropriately to all monitor alarms.
• Manage multiple technology platforms and develop collaborative relationships with other staff via remote platforms.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must complete the cardiac monitoring exam.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Ability to demonstrate arrhythmia recognition.

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Associate degree in a related field.
• One (1) year of experience in the specialty area with rhythm recognition skill set.
