About the role
The Monitor Technician performs high-level ongoing patient surveillance and provides nursing/clinicians with immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rate/rhythm.
Responsibilities
- Maintains and troubleshoots monitoring equipment on the patient to ensure clear monitoring.
- Monitors, records, and reports heart rhythm from patient cardiac monitors.
- Monitors seizure and fall risk activity for patients with orders of telemetry.
- Conducts general patient observation.
- Initiates and discontinues monitoring equipment on admission, transfer, or discharge.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education
- General experience
- Relevant experience required
