Duties And Responsibilities

• Aid students needing assistance loading or unloading the bus.
• Actively assist the driver when backing the bus.
• Constantly monitor students' well-being and behavior during the route.
• Respond appropriately to students' needs during the route and notify the driver of emergencies.
• Familiarize oneself with the route to assist a substitute or new driver.
• Aid the driver in keeping the bus clean.
• Safely secure all wheelchair students and store/retrieve all student equipment.
• Sit on the bus but not behind the driver unless the bus is empty.
• Complete a walk-through to ensure the safe transportation of all students.
• Absorb and conduct emergency evacuation drills.
• Report observations and incidents to the transportation supervisor.
• Attend staff meetings/trainings and serve on staff committees.
• Maintain confidentiality and confidentiality of any district-owned fixed asset items.
• Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certification.
• CDL required within 6 months of hire date.
