Job Goals

To help the bus driver maintain an orderly atmosphere on the school bus by supervising students and following the District Transportation Discipline Procedures.

Responsibilities

• Aid the bus driver in supervising students as they enter, ride, and depart the school bus.
• Aid the bus driver in maintaining an orderly climate on the school bus.
• Aid the bus driver in constructing seating charts and/or student seating placement.
• Aid the bus driver in writing up bus referrals and following steps in the Transportation discipline procedures.
• Aid the bus driver in providing a safe climate by observing all mandatory safety regulations for school buses, both district and state.
• Be courteous to students, co-workers, administrators, and parents.
• Perform such other duties as assigned by appropriate supervisor.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate ability to supervise children in a manner that will maintain an orderly atmosphere on a school bus.
• Exhibit good writing and communication skills.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
