About the role
This is a full-time, night-shift Monitor Technician position located at West Hospital. The hours are 6p–6:30a on a rotating schedule.
Responsibilities
- Accurately read and identify cardiac rhythms
- Cardiac monitoring of patients including those with technological support (i.e., pacemakers, AICD)
- Documents changes in rhythm and reports these changes according to established protocol
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Successful completion of Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia course; anatomy and physiology courses and/or related courses
- Basic Life Support certification through the AHA
- Thorough knowledge of arrhythmia recognition
- Good visual acuity and sustained concentration to effectively observe cardiac rhythms on CRTs
- Basic computer skills required
- Previous experience with telemetry monitoring or related field is preferred
Qualifications
Candidates must have experience in accurately reading and identifying cardiac rhythms.
Skills
Requires thorough knowledge of arrhythmia recognition. Requires good visual acuity and sustained concentration to effectively observe cardiac rhythms on CRTs. Basic computer skills required.
