About the role
The Molecular Oncology Specialist (MOS) is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to achieve revenue goals for Agendia’s oncology services and franchise products (e.g., MammaPrint, BluePrint) within the New England territory (MA, CT, NH, VT, ME, up to White Plains, NY).
Responsibilities
- Identify, target, educate, and manage accounts in the assigned territory, including hospitals, pathology groups, oncologists, and surgeons.
- Analyze the territory to understand prescribing and purchasing decision processes, noting any deviations from national trends.
- Drive new oncology business, maintain customer relationships, and exceed sales targets.
- Achieve sales forecasts and revenue goals.
- Organize and facilitate meetings to exchange medical and product information in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Represent Agendia at trade shows, company meetings, and training programs.
- Adapt to changes in the work environment, modify call plans, and implement alternate strategies to meet objectives.
- Identify key physicians, healthcare providers, and organizations within the territory.
- Focus sales efforts on high-revenue opportunities, particularly in Community-Based Oncology and Surgery practices.
- Support company sales strategy and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Maintain a professional image and ensure activities align with Agendia’s ethical marketing policies.
- Travel independently throughout the territory to drive sales.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
- Communicate business opportunities and challenges to the Regional Sales Director.
- Maintain a customer and target database in Salesforce (SFDC).
- Present at quarterly sales meetings.
- Collaborate with marketing on regional trends, competitive threats, and new testing opportunities.
- Adhere to Agendia’s health, safety, and regulatory policies (e.g., EEO, FDA, OSHA).
- Reside within the assigned territory.
- Complete administrative duties, including expense reports and call reports, in a timely manner.
- Provide test report orientation guidance to clinicians upon request, while avoiding specific patient management recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree highly desired.
- 3+ years of field sales experience in diagnostic, oncology, lab services, pharmaceutical, biotech, or a related industry.
- Advanced knowledge of sales concepts and practices, with the ability to apply them in diverse business situations.
- Proven ability to develop and implement attainable business plans.
- Must reside within the assigned territory (New England: MA, CT, NH, VT, ME, up to White Plains, NY).
Skills
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with physicians, thought leaders, and stakeholders.
- Track record of meeting or exceeding financial and qualitative targets.
- Strong communication skills for engaging with internal teams, customers, and external contacts.
- Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time, including overnights and occasional weekend programs.
- Ability to translate complex scientific information into accessible messaging for oncology customers.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and prioritize workload.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with minimal supervision.
- Positive, adaptable attitude with a willingness to embrace change.
Working Environment
- Regularly walks, stands, and sits during work activities.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted.
- Works on a computer for 6–8 hours per day.
- Extensive travel within the territory (up to 75%), using planes, trains, or cars.
