About the role
The Molding Technician plays a crucial role in Paragon Medical's manufacturing process, ensuring high-quality production through precise operation and maintenance of injection molding machines.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
- Perform mold changes, tool swaps, and machine adjustments as needed.
- Start up and shut down molding processes following established procedures.
- Ensure production meets cycle time, quality, and efficiency targets.
- Identify, diagnose, and correct molding issues such as flashing, short shots, burns, and warpage.
- Adjust machine parameters to optimize performance and reduce scrap.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to improve process stability and output.
- Inspect molded parts visually and with measurement tools (calipers, gauges, etc.)
- Document quality checks and maintain accurate production records.
- Work closely with Quality team to resolve defects and maintain standards.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance on molds, machines, and auxiliary equipment.
- Clean molds, machinery, and work areas to ensure a safe, organized environment.
- Follow all company safety policies, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Communicate machine issues, material shortages, or process concerns promptly.
- Train or assist new team members as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- 3 - 7 years experience as a Technician with injection molding or plastics manufacturing.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, production drawings, and basic measurement tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Scientific Molding principles.
- Familiarity with robots and automation systems.
- Experience with materials such as ABS, polypropylene, nylon, or engineered resins.
Qualifications
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift 10–30 lbs as needed.
- Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise and moving machinery.
Skills

Benefits
