About the role

As a machine operator at Mohawk Industries, you will be responsible for material movement and machinery operations needed to safely produce quality products in a global flooring manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspections and testing throughout the shift, identifying quality and manufacturing defects.
• Understand and apply correct parameters specific to department processes to minimize defects and increase production output.
• Make necessary adjustments to the production line based on feedback from automated systems, manual testing, and product specifications.
• Adhere to company and department standards for documentation, setup procedures, production processes, and quality guidelines.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including shift reports and checklists, to ensure adherence to production procedures.
• Follow all company and department safety policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Manage material flow of raw and finished goods using pallet jacks, forklifts, and other tools as needed.
• Attend job-related training as required by supervision.
• Follow all established standard operating procedures.
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Complete other tasks assigned by management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment required.
• Prior forklift experience required; 1+ year experience preferred.
• Experience in production processes involving paper or chemical handling preferred.
• Computer literacy, including Excel skills, required.
• Good oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with all employees.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to work independently.
• Must be able to work in an environment with fluctuating temperatures and other department-specific variables.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; walking, bending, squatting, climbing ladders, and stairs are required.

Schedule

This position may require working 12-hour shifts and a fixed shift rotation, including holidays.
