Molding Operator

Job Summary

We are hiring an Operator, Molding responsible for molding production and minor maintenance activities on assigned presses in Sumter, SC. This role involves operating injection molding presses and multi-cavity molding machines to manufacture components that meet quality specifications.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Operate injection molding presses to supply downstream equipment with molded components
• Inspect components and request technical support to maintain part quality
• Conduct minor maintenance activities on assigned presses
• Work with molding team members to keep equipment running during breaks and call-outs
• Operate multi-cavity injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment to meet rated output
• Place surplus molded components into inventory
• Maintain thorough knowledge of products, raw materials, and quality specifications
• Keep machinery, work area, and floors neat, orderly, and GMP-compliant
• Perform thorough product inspections and make quality-related decisions
• Follow relevant controlled documents, preventative maintenance task lists, and equipment manuals
• Perform tasks such as stacking boxes/totes, bagging material, and printing labels

Experience

• 0 to 5 years of relevant experience
• 1-2 years of manufacturing experience preferred, ideally with injection molding presses (electric & hydraulic)

Key Skills

• Ability to operate injection molding presses and auxiliary equipment
• Strong attention to detail for product quality inspections
• Ability to work effectively in a team with limited supervision
• Familiarity with controlled documents (Work Instructions, Forms, etc.)
• Basic mechanical/maintenance troubleshooting skills

Eligibility And Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Must pass eye exam
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
• Steel toe or composite-toe shoes required
• Background check must be cleared (may start with background pending)
• No drug screening required for this assignment
• Willing to work a 3-2-2-3 schedule, including weekends

Pay

$16.50/hr

Schedule

1st Shift: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off (3-2-2-3 schedule including weekends).
