About the role

Eaton’s IS AER ITD division is currently seeking a Molding Operator - 2nd Shift. The core hours are 2:15pm to 10:45pm. The hourly rate for this position is $20.00 plus $2.00 shift differential per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Mold Operator role will set up equipment, prepares compounds and processes a variety of assemblies, such as standard connectors and special connectors following written and verbal instructions.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain molding presses and auxiliary equipment to ensure continuous, efficient, and safe production.
  • Perform mold setups, changeovers, and minor adjustments per established work instructions, engineering specifications, and Work Orders.
  • Verify machine settings, part identification, and process parameters meet product and customer requirements prior to and during production runs.
  • Accurately complete all required documentation, including routers, inspection records, scrap logs, and production reports.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and report molding defects, assembly issues, and equipment malfunctions to supervision or maintenance.
  • Perform rework and/or repair of molded and assembled parts in accordance with engineering changes, repair instructions, and approved procedures.
  • Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, specifications, illustrations, work instructions, and visual aids to determine proper sequence of operations.
  • Perform all packaging operations, including bagging, labeling, and boxing, in accordance with Work Orders and shipment requirements.
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and housekeeping standards to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies, quality concerns, and cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Maintain compliance with aerospace quality systems, including traceability, configuration control, and controlled documentation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of department and business needs.

Qualifications

  • Basic (Required) Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution. Minimum of 2+ years with Manufacturing Environment experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience operating injection molding or transfer molding presses in an aerospace, medical, or other regulated manufacturing environment. Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar quality management systems and related documentation requirements. Knowledge of resin handling, material drying, lot traceability, and shelf-life controls. Ability to perform basic troubleshooting of molding defects such as short shots, flash, burn marks, and dimensional variation. Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts, continuous improvement, or 5S practices. Strong attention to detail with a proven history of maintaining low defect and scrap rates. Ability to adapt to changing priorities, shift schedules, and production demands in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
