About the Role

Responsible for operation of injection molding machines and related equipment in production of quality products.

Responsibilities

  • Operate molding machines.
  • Clip, trim, visually inspect and package quality product as required in the documented instructions.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping by clearing and cleaning workspace.
  • Complete all paperwork pertaining to production neatly and correctly following all quality standards.
  • Perform checks and compare parts with the QA samples.
  • Monitor, record and report all scrap.
  • Assist molders during machine changes as needed.
  • Perform inspection of machine to identify potential malfunctions.
  • Responsible for following all Vaupell policies, standard operating procedures, and safety practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of experience, training, and education.
  • Ability to read, speak, understand, and follow instructions in English.
  • Capable of using basic hand tools.
  • Comprehension of basic math, including fractions, decimals, averages, and percentages.
  • Must be able to wear and properly use required personal protective equipment.
  • Candidates must be a "US Person" (i.e., US Citizen or Permanent Resident) to ensure Vaupell's compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations).

Environmental Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to stand for most of the work shift and walk frequently while operating and monitoring molding equipment. The employee must be able to:

  • Frequently use hands and fingers for grasping, handling, feeling, finger dexterity, keyboarding, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Frequently use ordinary hearing and visual abilities, including near vision, far vision, depth perception, and color perception.
  • Occasionally to frequently bend at the waist, reach above and below shoulder level, twist or turn, push and carry items under 25 pounds, and lift items under 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally sit, lift, carry, or push 25 to 50 pounds, climb stairs or ladders, balance, kneel, and crawl.

Lifting, carrying, or pushing over 50 pounds is not an essential physical requirement of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 3pm to 11pm.
