This role at GE Aerospace’s Jacksonville site focuses on preparing, molding, curing, and finishing electronic component parts using precise formulas, fixtures, computerized ovens, and vacuum processes to meet strict operating standards. Candidates work from layouts and specifications, use a variety of tools and measurement devices, and actively participate in a lean, 5S teaming environment while meeting physical and safety requirements, including FAA/DOT screenings.

About the Work Environment

Jacksonville site is unique; we manufacture electronic component parts in addition to having a Repair & Overhaul shop for GE Engines. Our climate-controlled site has 27 different nationalities and 9 active employee resource groups.

Responsibilities

  • Mix calculated compound ratios specified per formula and written specifications, blending materials, weighing, and heating as prescribed
  • Install parts in fixtures, create reservoir and install spacers as required
  • Operate computerized ovens per specifications to ensure curing times and cycles are maintained as required
  • Vacuum cycle the parts as required to evacuate air and humidity
  • Clean components to remove excess compound and flash to ensure cosmetic appearance
  • Perform shelf-life audits daily as required
  • Work from layouts, prints, specifications, route sheets and general instructions
  • Review requirements, select appropriate mold/fixtures and obtain necessary materials
  • Prepare work area to ensure clean working surface
  • Use hand tools, weight scale, molds, fixtures, vibrator, vacuum chamber, ovens, air gun, solvents and arbor press
  • Check work at prescribed intervals to ensure compliance with operating standards

Requirements

  • Actively participate in a teaming environment that uses lean and 5S practices to improve products and processes
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic ERP skills
  • Basic written and verbal communications skills
  • Use of measurement devices (i.e. scales, calculators, rulers)
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push and/or pull up to 25 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work with hazardous materials and in an environment with fumes and chemicals
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information; employment contingent upon proving U.S. Person status (U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, asylee, or refugee status)
