Mold Technician (Plastic Manufacturing)

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain injection molds, auxiliary equipment, and related production equipment.
• Auxiliary responsibilities include assisting with mold changes on injection molding machines, operating shop equipment, performing preventive maintenance, completing work orders, identifying and communicating the need for spare parts, reading and interpreting CAD files, documenting work performed, and following safety procedures.
• Support facility maintenance needs including water, compressed air, electrical supply, and other plant services.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with injection molds preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing injection molds and auxiliary equipment strongly preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude required.
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, mechanical systems, and basic computer use required.
• Ability to read 2D and 3D CAD files.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to prioritize work, troubleshoot issues, and communicate equipment concerns clearly.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to support production needs.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, reach, climb, kneel, and work around manufacturing equipment as needed.
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, machinery, tools, and moving equipment.
