Mold Technician

About the role

Mauser Packaging Solutions is seeking a skilled individual to join our team. This position involves performing and tracking all routine preventive maintenance on production tools, repairing molds, overseeing all work and work orders for molds, managing SMED changes, organizing inserts, overseeing mold changes, reporting on mold downtime, directing team members, working with tooling vendors, maintaining a safe inventory, initiating purchase orders, inspecting parts, collaborating with the quality department, participating in an on-call program, and following safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Performs and tracks all routine preventive maintenance on all production tools
• Repairs molds as required by welding and machining
• Oversees all work and work orders for all molds
• Manages all SMED changes to production molds
• Organizes all inserts in cabinets, and maintains cabinets
• Oversees all mold changes and reports
• Responsible for mold downtime and reports
• Directs fellow team members in daily workload
• Works with tooling vendors on repairs
• Maintains a safe inventory stock on mold parts. Initiates purchase order for parts
• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements
• Works daily with Quality department on defects
• Participates in on-call program and may be required to work additional hours as required
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or GED
• 3-5 years’ experience in a maintenance-related position within a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of training and experience
• Ability to interpret documents such as procedure manuals, blueprints, schematics, charts, diagrams, etc.
• Ability to use precision measuring devices including amp meters, electric meters, and hydraulic gauges
• Basic understanding of systems, equipment and schematics
• Good troubleshooting skills
• Basic mathematical skills used to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and use decimals and fractions
• Ability to perform work in a mature and professional manner, demonstrate personal responsibility and perform all assigned duties
