Mold Repair Technician (Kansas Rd. Location)

About the role

This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining molds used in the injection molding process within the facility.

Responsibilities

• Work in a neat and orderly manner
• Repair molds in accordance with Tool Shop Work Instructions
• Work with more advanced associates to accomplish repairs
• Work with a variety of associates within the company to accomplish organized objectives
• Tear down and assemble molds
• Change core inserts & orifice sizes
• Troubleshoot mold problems
• Use precision tools and bench work
• Understand workings of molds to assist with improvements
• Clean Shop as needed
• Be able to lead a repair operation and keep it moving toward completion
• Analyze parts and plan repair procedures
• Detect possible future problems or existing problems during the course of preventive maintenance
• Follow applicable Food Safety and cGMP polices

Requirements

• 2 year degree in machining trades technology (Tool & Die or Injection Mold Tooling) from Vincennes University or equivalent
• Machine shop mathematics (algebra, geometry, trigonometry)
• Able to run conventional machine shop machines (including CNC equipment)
• Able to work independently and with others
• Strong interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong problem solving skills
• Able to read and interpret written documents

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• The employee required to climb or balance and stoop or crouch.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to various types of equipment that have vibration.
• The noise level in the work environment requires hearing protection.
