Mold Repair Technician Location: Onsite, Newton NC Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor Employment Status: Full Time Travel: None Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 6:00 am to 2:00 pm overtime and weekends as required. Apply Now Position Summary: The Mold Repair Technician plays a vital role in supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations. This position performs maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plastic injection molds and production equipment while adhering to established safety standards and best practices. The technician fabricates quality replacement components using hand sketches, blueprints, and CAD models, helping ensure reliable equipment performance and minimal downtime. Responsible for preventive maintenance activities and maintenance tracking, this role collaborates with maintenance team members and other departments. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate hand tools, machine tools, precision measuring instruments, cranes, and other equipment to fabricate, maintain, and repair molds and components.Perform mold inspections and diagnostics using precision measuring tools and gauges to identify wear, damage, and opportunities for improvement.Execute preventive maintenance activities, including disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, reassembly, and testing of molds and related equipment to ensure reliable operation.Troubleshoot tooling and equipment issues, perform necessary repairs and modifications, and recommend solutions to complex mold and tooling challenges.Conduct all maintenance and repair activities in accordance with company safety standards, quality requirements, and OSHA regulations while promoting a safe work environment.Maintain accurate maintenance, repair, labor, and material records; utilize data to prioritize work, improve efficiency, and support cost-reduction initiatives. Qualifications Highschool Diploma/GED required.Tool manufacturing, tool maintenance, tool assembly, or tool repair experience is preferred.Experience with injection molding is preferred.CAD or Computer Aided Manufacturing software (CAM) understanding preferred.Computer Numerical Control (CNC) or Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) experience is preferred. Work Environment This position typically functions in a production environment. There will be exposure to moderate noise levels, fumes, dust, chemicals, heat/cold, and allergens especially in the production environment.
