About the role
A locally owned and operated leader in disaster cleanup, restoration, and remediation is seeking an experienced Mold Remediation Crew Chief to join our fast-paced restoration team. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for directing mold remediation projects from initial setup through completion. The Crew Chief will lead remediation technicians, coordinate project resources, maintain job-site safety and quality standards, communicate with customers, and ensure all work is completed efficiently and professionally. IICRC certifications and previous mold remediation experience are highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Lead mold remediation projects from initial setup through completion
- Assign responsibilities and provide clear direction to remediation technicians
- Establish and maintain proper containment and negative-air environments
- Coordinate the equipment, materials, and personnel needed for each project
- Perform demolition and removal of mold-affected building materials as required
- Set up, monitor, and maintain air scrubbers, HEPA filtration systems, and other remediation equipment
- Perform HEPA vacuuming, detailed cleaning, and treatment of affected areas
- Ensure all work follows established remediation protocols, industry standards, and company procedures
- Enforce proper PPE use and all job-site safety requirements
- Monitor crew performance, workmanship, and project progress to maintain quality and scheduling expectations
- Communicate professionally with customers and answer questions regarding the remediation process
- Complete accurate project documentation, including photographs, notes, and required job records
- Identify and resolve job-site issues as they arise
- Properly maintain and protect company vehicles, equipment, and materials
- Keep company vehicles, equipment, warehouse areas, and workspaces clean and organized
Qualifications
- Previous mold remediation, restoration, or related experience preferred
- Experience leading or supervising a remediation or restoration crew strongly preferred
- IICRC certifications highly valued, particularly AMRT and WRT
- Knowledge of containment, negative air, HEPA filtration, and proper remediation procedures
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments while wearing appropriate PPE
- Ability to respond to emergency and after-hours projects when required
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to successfully complete a background check, subject to applicable law
