Mold Press Line Operator

Duties

• Set up and operate presses for plastics blow molding, injection molding, and extrusion processes with precision and adherence to safety protocols
• Inspect molds and finished products using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure quality standards are achieved
• Loads molds into the presses, lifting up to 40 lbs.
• Handles materials efficiently using forklifts and other warehouse equipment, ensuring proper materials handling and storage practices
• Conducts quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process to identify defects or inconsistencies and implements corrective actions as needed
• Affixes to fabrication and assembly tasks related to mold setup or modifications using hand tools and fabrication equipment
• Fulfills lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflows, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience operating press machines
• Proficiency in plastics blow molding, injection molding, extrusion processes, and related fabrication techniques
• Ability to perform quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments
• Familiarity with materials handling equipment such as forklifts; warehouse experience is a plus
• Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and process adjustments
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to promote continuous improvement in production workflows
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues quickly
• Strong understanding of safety protocols related to manufacturing environments
