Mold Maker

Responsibilities

• Setting up and operating equipment such as lathes, grinders, milling machines, radial drill presses
• Makes components per print and holds close tolerances where needed
• Disassembles and assembles molds using hand tools
• Inspects completed tools and dies for signs of imperfections or damage that may affect the functionality
• Studies blueprints of products and molds to affect construction or repair of components
• Applies knowledge of shop mathematics
• Performs close tolerance measurements of mold components utilizing measuring devices such as gauge pins, micrometer, calipers, or other related equipment
• Regularly tests all equipment, tools, and machines to ensure they are arranged and set properly and working efficiently

Requirements

• 5 years minimum experience in mold making / manufacturing environment preferred
• Must be able to read and interpret blue prints
• Accredited journeyman background preferred but not required
