About the role

Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative-energy powertrains. Serving passenger vehicle and commercial truck markets, Dana provides original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.

Responsibilities

• Constructs, adapts, and modifies molds for plastic injection molding, die cast tooling, metal stamping, and other molding operations.
• Creates initial molds based on specifications from design team, blueprints, or schematics.
• Sets up and operates all conventional machinery, including grinders, lathes, and mills.
• Applies basic welding and fabricating skills.
• Machines and fabricates objects from blueprints with close tolerances.
• Disassembles and assembles dies and molds.
• Cleans and inspects dies and molds.
• Uses various measuring and gauging tools to perform necessary inspections before, during, and after molding operations.
• Sets up equipment based on mold requirements, materials, and tolerances.
• Complies with Dana’s Health and Safety Procedures and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
• Completes housekeeping duties and maintains a clean and safe work environment.
• Completes assigned work according to specifications and meets timelines.
• Completes required documentation.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Thorough understanding of machinery and mold creation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Thorough understanding of applicable safety rules.
• Successful completion of a formal apprenticeship program, technical school training program, or company-provided training program.
