About the role
As a Mold Machine Operator in the foundry, you have the opportunity to observe continuous operation of automatic machines to ensure that products meet specifications and to detect jams or malfunctions, making adjustments as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Measures and visually inspects products for surface and dimension defects in order to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
- Moves and positions work pieces, such as mold sections, patterns, and bottom boards, using cranes, or signals others to move work pieces.
- Positions patterns, inside mold sections and clamps sections together.
- Lifts upper mold sections from lower sections and removes molded patterns.
- Sets up, operates, or trends metal or plastic molding, casting, or core making machine to mold or cast metal or thermoplastic parts or products.
- Turns valves and dials of machine to regulate pressure, temperature, and speed and feed rates, and to set cycles times.
- Removes finished or cured products from dies or molds, using hand tools, air hoses and other equipment, stamps identifying information on products when necessary.
Requirements
- Ability to stand up to 10 hours per day
- Ability to use both hands and feet up to 10 hours per day
- Constant awareness of surroundings
- Ability for some pushing/pulling/lifting (up to 50 lbs)

- Starting pay rate $26.20 with a $2.00 shift differential for 2nd, or $2.50 for weekends
