Mobilization Tech - Senior

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams to identify high priority patients in need of ambulation and mobility.
• Provide support to the interdisciplinary team (Nurses, Physical Therapists, and Occupational Therapists) and assists the Nurse, Patient Care Tech, or Therapist who is providing mobility services to patients.
• Identify and intervene in turning and positioning for each individual patient in need while maintaining superior customer service.
• Verify activity orders and assist with tasks necessary for the management team.
• Organize the patient care unit and be flexible to meet patient and/or unit needs.
• Transfer patients using trained techniques and safe patient handling equipment.
• Mobilize each identified patient including reinforcement of use of assistive devices used at baseline or recommended by the interdisciplinary team.
• Aid patients in therapeutic regimen.
• Absorb patients in self-care only as an adjunct to functional mobility.
• Position, toileting, and/or peri-care.
• Assist the interdisciplinary team in training medical and nursing personnel in mobility techniques and objectives.
• Document as directed within the Care Connect electronic medical record.
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team including Medical Providers, and others indicated, regarding patient’s response to mobility plan.
• Reinforce education to the patient and family regarding the efficacy and rationale for mobilization.
• Understand normal vital sign parameters.
• Maintain inventory, storage, and cleanliness of equipment and unit area.
• Support other staff members with patient transfers, toileting, and equipment retrieval/adjustments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the unit Nurse Manager.

Requirements

• One (1) year of direct patient care experience in a healthcare facility.
• Experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mobilization Tech, or Patient Care Tech strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements

• M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

Pay

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
