Mobility Technician, Variable Part Time Day Shift, Acute Care Therapy
About the role
Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire a Mobility Technician for our Acute Care Therapy Department.
Responsibilities
- Performs functional assessments on all admissions, orients patients/family members to organization and provides Mobility type activities as delegated by the Manager, (Prospective Payment System -PPS) and Nurse Manager.
- Documents FIM and quality indicator documentation in performance improvement projects.
- Provides direct patient care tasks as established and delegated by the Licensed Registered Nurse.
- Performs direct patient care limited to non-invasive procedures, including activities of daily living, transfers and mobility.
- Performs various tasks as competency documentation designates, including EKG’s, bladder scans, blood draw and specimen collection and communicates with the RN any variations or critical values.
- Other specific duties may vary by area of assignment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree.
- Prior experience with FIM and quality indicator knowledge and application.
- Knowledge and application of transfer techniques.
- Active Maryland CNA license required.
- Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
