Job Summary

Assists in providing patient care and treatment in accordance with the Division of Nursing Standards. Promotes mobility and safety for all patients on unit. Supports purposeful rounding and maintains environment to minimize the risk for falls. Participates in turning schedules for patients at risk of pressure injuries.

Work Experience & Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Certified by the Maryland State Board of Nursing as a Nursing Assistant required
  • Current BLS required

Experience

  • Two (2) years’ experience as Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Experience in acute care is preferred

Skills & Abilities

  • Read, write, and comprehend medical terminology
  • Effectively convey verbal and written information
  • Follow directions
  • Perform simple mathematical calculations correctly
  • Respond to emergency situations appropriately
  • Adapt hours of availability to variable and changing needs of the hospital, including all shifts
  • Effectively function as a member of a collaborative team
  • Organize and manage time effectively, setting appropriate priorities
  • Comply with OSHA standards
  • Understand and respect importance of patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Demonstrate competency with all safe patient handling equipment, proper body mechanics and patient mobility

Compensation

  • Pay Range: $17.68-$24.76
