Mobility Technician, Full time, Days 7a-3p, Deskovick 2, Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center

About the role

Assists patients with activities of daily living, observes and maintains isolation precautions, documents patient contact and priorities of care, provides and maintains safety and comfort measures, performs customer service and patient satisfaction duties, performs non-patient, unit-specific duties, maintains a safe environment, participates in training and staffing, and communicates patient conditions.

Responsibilities

• Turns and positions patients per policy or as directed and transfers patient to and from bed/chair/stretcher.
• Assists patients with ambulation utilizing the appropriate assistive device and providing the appropriate amount of assistance.
• Adheres to hospital policies and procedures regarding care.
• Observes and maintains isolation precautions and practices hand hygiene.
• Washes hands before and after each patient intervention.
• Maintains standard precautions and follows isolation instructions.
• Documents ADLs and other pertinent information in a timely manner.
• Completes verbal and written reports by end of shift.
• Demonstrates flexibility in responding to patient needs.
• Completes all assignments unless redirected by rehab coordinator/manager.
• Works as a team member in meeting assigned unit and rehab department needs and goals.
• Participates in rehab department meetings and report.
• Recognizes the physiologic symptoms of dizziness, SOB and fatigue and reports them to nursing staff on a timely basis.
• Completes all documentation of activities as assigned.
• Communicates with the patients care team regarding changes in the patient’s condition as well as any other patient care concerns or suggestions.

Requirements

High School Diploma, BLS certification preferred, Prior acute care experience preferred.
