Mobility Technician

Responsibilities

  • Mobilization of patients under the supervision of the rehabilitation services and nursing departments.
  • Ambulates, transfers, and lifts patients using safe patient handling skills and ergonomics.
  • Utilizes transfer devices and tools to assist in mobilization of patients.
  • Communicates and collaborates effectively within the interdisciplinary team.
  • Performs both clerical and effective computer skills.
  • Performs set up and cleanup of treatment area including appropriate equipment and supplies.
  • Mentors and trains new technician staff.

Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of applicable experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current certification in Patient Handling and Transportation (PHAT).
  • Current CPR certification.

Skills

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Safe patient handling and ergonomics knowledge.
