MOBILITY TECH

Position Summary

Aids in patient mobility, including transfers out of bed and walking within the room and hallways. Receives assignments from nursing or therapy personnel. Performs assigned mobility tasks using proper body mechanics and safe techniques. Documents tasks promptly. Communicates effectively with patients and colleagues. Assists with patient toileting and educates staff on proper transfer techniques and the use of hospital lifting equipment to minimize injury. Demonstrates proficiency in transferring patients and using lifting equipment. Adheres to policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes annual education assignments. Works towards meeting job goals and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Minimum Education

None specified; equivalent to a high school diploma or GED preferred. Preference may be given to individuals with a high school diploma or GED.

Licensure Requirement

CPR certification required.
