SUMMARY
Responsible for the performance of radio dispatch functions for the mobility divisions, along with coordinating additional activities and projects for this division.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensure daily customer happiness
- Affirms that the work area is clean, equipped with all necessary material, and that the equipment is operating properly at the beginning and ending of each shift
- Attends training sessions as required to maintain certification
- Attends meetings as needed to support customer experience and engagement
- Prepares computer-generated reports and other incidental and general information for Director of Operations as directed
- Provides coordination of available resources as efficiently and effectively as possible to ensure prompt handling of all mobility transports
- Other roles and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications/Skills & Knowledge Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Maintain valid State of Michigan Driver license and a good driving record
- Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
- Must possess current BLS card
- Must be interviewed by a Life EMS designee
- Must complete specified Control Center orientation
- Accurate, basic typing skills and computer operation knowledge
- Exceptional knowledge of all resources available, i.e. cross index, CAD, paging systems, phone system, radio transmitter equipment
- Exceptional knowledge of city streets and general service area geography
- The ability to think and act quickly in stressful situations
- Responsible for maintaining a good working relationship with management staff, fellow associates, public safety personnel, hospital and nursing home personnel, and the general public
- The ability to prepare detailed written reports
- Responsible for overseeing scheduling needs and volume demands and report any unusual circumstances or resource requirements immediately to the Control Center Supervisor
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
- The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
