Responsibilities
- Perform all levels of troubleshooting and repair services of customer trailers, chassis, containers, and truck bodies at a customer site using a mobile service truck.
- Work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime.
- Face-to-face interaction with customers on their property or their customers' property.
- Intermediate level troubleshooting and preventive maintenance tasks, including tire replacements/flat repairs, brake adjustments/services/replacements, electrical diagnostics and repairs, ABS diagnostics and repairs, basic structural repairs on trailer chassis, sub-frames, etc.
- Perform annual FHWA (Federal Highway Administration) Inspections.
- Patch holes in trailer/container side panels and roofs, ensuring all holes are sealed and watertight.
- Use a cutting torch and welding equipment for mid-level chassis, frames, brackets, etc., repairs.
- Accurately complete work orders and other written materials according to established procedures.
- Enter data with a computer utilizing company maintenance software.
- Operate assigned service truck in a professional manner and according to company requirements; keep unit clean and well stocked.
- Maintain/Build relationships with service customers.
- Provide excellent customer service to service customers.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Semi-Trailer maintenance and repair and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications
- Must display excellent sense of integrity and initiative.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Favorable background screening, physical and drug screening, and proof of work authorization in the United States is required for employment.
- Ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.
