Provide service to customers while maintaining exceptional customer service. This role includes cleaning, maintenance, visual inspection, removal of parts and attachments, installation using proper manuals, report writing, disassembly, assembly, parts reuse evaluation, and reconditioning for our fleet of commercial vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
  • Handle basic maintenance of trucks, including filling fuel tanks, checking oil, cleaning, and ensuring required inspections are performed and documented.
  • Manage inventory control on the service truck and keep the vehicle properly stocked.
  • Report to the Service Manager and perform assigned duties on a daily basis.
  • Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and an open work schedule.
  • Maintain and inventory tools required for diesel engine truck maintenance.
  • Read job orders and observe vehicles in operation to determine malfunctions and plan work procedures.
  • Use diagnostic equipment to identify malfunctions and technical information to perform correct repairs.
  • Diagnose, remove, and replace components such as injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, bearings, clutches, differentials, brakes, batteries, transmissions, and other parts.
  • Perform all necessary diagnostic and documentation functions using the company computer system.
  • Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices on trucks, and make adjustments as needed.
  • Lubricate moving parts and test-drive repaired vehicles to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
  • Document and submit paperwork or enter work details into the mobile service program accurately and timely.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive customer relations.
  • Advise customers or service writers of recommended repairs or services for the next 3 months.
  • Participate in training and apply learned skills in daily work.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 9 years of experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
  • Current and valid CDL and Medical card as required by the FMVS.
  • Mechanical aptitude and technical ability.

Pay

Minimum pay rate: USD $30.00/Hr. Maximum pay rate: USD $50.00/Hr.
