Mobile Service Technician
About the role
A Mobile Service Technician level I is responsible for repair and preventive maintenance on med/heavy duty fleet vehicles at our customer's locations. The position requires providing vehicle repairs while maintaining exceptional customer service. High mechanical skills on med/heavy duty trucks and buses, along with knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in vehicle repair and maintenance, are essential. The position demands high mechanical skills, proficiency in using power and hand tools, diagnostic equipment, acetylene and electric arc welding, and the operation of vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes. The technician must also be highly detail-oriented and organized.
Responsibilities
- Perform major and technically difficult diagnostics, repairs, including vehicle inspections, in a timely manner, ensuring quality, time standards, customer expectations, cost guidelines, and reliability goals are met.
- Communicate effectively with customers, developing positive relationships and helping to grow the Dealership Service business.
- Treat customers with personal/professional service, respond to customer inquiries regarding the work, advise customers and/or service writers of any repairs or services that should be performed, conduct safety check inspections on vehicles, identify warrantable repairs and document on repair orders, complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times, review, complete or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports, maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate Standards, and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures, ensure that all repairs are completed as assigned, update job knowledge by participating in education opportunities, read technical and regulation publications, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

- Proficiency in using power and hand tools, diagnostic equipment, acetylene and electric arc welding, and the operation of vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes.

- Ability to drive and operate a variety of equipment under varying conditions.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with a customer service focus with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem-solving, and results.
- Initiative and the ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Experience in vehicle repair and maintenance.
- Knowledge of vehicle computer electronics systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Pay
Salary range: $75k - $90k annually (Negotiable based on experience)
