Mobile Reefer Mechanic II Tuesday thru Saturday

About the role

Cox Fleet is seeking a Reefer Trailer Technician II to support our growing fleet maintenance services. This is a dedicated on-site position focusing on preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and repairs on refrigerated trailers and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform certified DOT inspections and preventive maintenance on ThermoKing, Carrier, and other refrigeration equipment
• Inspect and repair Freightliner and Mack Trucks, trailers, and other equipment
• Diagnose and replace compressors, coils, electrical components, and other parts
• Manage parts inventory and equipment on company-issued service truck
• Respond to unscheduled service requests and conduct DOT inspections
• Document repairs and findings using company-issued iOS device and proprietary TRAIT application
• Communicate with management and support team regarding repair estimates and RO findings
• Participate in company safety training and adhere to safety protocols
• Work independently and manage daily schedule to meet standard repair times
• Assist Mobile Trailer Technician I with diagnostics and repairs

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years’ experience in a related field
• At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification
• ASE 608/609 certification (preferred)
• Knowledge of trailer parts and systems
• Valid driver’s license with more than 4 months of DOT medical card validity
