Mobile Person: Mill & Calender (6am-230pm)

About the role

This position performs all semi-skilled jobs in the department, with assignments scheduled on a daily basis by the department Supervisor. The role involves working with a wide variety of measuring devices, prints, and sketches to close tolerances, and requires direction only when new or experimental work is involved.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain manufacturing equipment used in the production of rubber products, including milling, calendaring, cutting, curing, finishing, and inspection processes.
• Perform machine setup and operation, quality checks, material handling, production recordkeeping, and support safe, efficient manufacturing operations.
• Relieve other workers, substitute for workers during their absences, assist in reducing excessive work loads in production centers, and perform extra work whenever and wherever needed.
• Keep work area clean and perform other jobs as assigned by Supervisor.
• Daily clean the mill and keep the mill area in an orderly condition.

Requirements

• Proficiency in the set up and operation of the department production equipment.
• Knowledge of various styles and types of stocks.
• Understanding of the work routines and performance standards of the job title.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.

Working Conditions

The role involves working on a manufacturing floor with exposure to dirt and dust. Physical effort may include stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Clarity of vision to see near and mid-range is required, and the ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.

Pay

The hiring range for this position is typically $26.20 - $28.29 hourly. Actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

Schedule

1st Shift: 6am-2:30pm (Monday-Friday).
