Mobile & Front End Developer, Jr.

About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Jr. Mobile and Front End Developer to join our Systems Administration team within the Innovation and Technology department. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about technology and animal welfare to contribute to developing and maintaining critical internal tools and systems.

The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including core development, DevOps, project management, and leadership, to enhance our internal platforms that support our veterinarians in the field.

This is a remote position with a schedule from Monday to Friday, 8AM to 5PM ET, and requires occasional travel for department meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, system administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
• 1-3 years of experience building mobile applications using React Native and Expo
• 1-3 years supporting enterprise-scale web applications
• Proficiency in CSS, HTML, and JavaScript
• Experience with React.js for front-end development
• Strong knowledge of C# and .NET 8 framework
• Experience working with Entity Framework (EF8 or newer)
• Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience developing RESTful APIs with ASP.NET Core Web API
• Experience writing unit tests using Xunit and Moq
• Familiarity with multi-cloud environments, particularly AWS and Azure
• Knowledge of Figma or similar design tools for creating wireframes and mockups
• Experience with Claude Code or similar AI-assisted development tools
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

• Aid in designing and developing API endpoints for our proprietary CRM platform, Sunshine
• Contribute to the front-end development of internal tools and systems to enhance user experience and operational efficiency
• Collaborate with product owners and UX designers to plan and develop a mobile application for veterinarians to streamline their workflows
• Support the core Sunshine development team with front-end tasks and mobile app integrations
• Create comprehensive documentation and serve as an escalation point for front-end or mobile app issues
• Maintain workload and system performance to identify opportunities for process improvements
• Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in mobile app development for iOS and Android platforms
• Leverage AI tools like Claude Code to assist in development while maintaining a human-in-the-loop workflow
• Participate in cross-functional team meetings to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables
