Mobile Equipment Operator

Arcosa Aggregates is seeking a Mobile Equipment Operator based out of our Newberry, FL plant. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy mobile equipment used in mining.

Responsibilities

• Actively promote safety awareness and continuous improvement through positive recognition.
• Comply with all industry safety rules, procedures, and applicable government regulations.
• Operate at least 2 pieces of mobile equipment (haul truck, farm tractor, water truck, rubber tire backhoe, front loader, etc.).
• Operate equipment in quarry and daily hauling of material from mine pit to stockpile, plant, or hopper.
• Perform walk-around pre-shift safety inspections and workplace inspections.
• Identify any safety problems or concerns and report any unsafe conditions to Supervisor, including near misses and areas where safety can be improved.
• Communicate with load and unload areas, haul materials safely to designated areas, and maintain safe speed while observing all plant traffic controls.
• Operate a front-end loader to efficiently and accurately load customer trucks and maintain stockpiles.
• Maintain an effective system of communications with supervisors and customers serviced.
• Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Prompt, regular, and predictable attendance.
• Positive, team-based attitude.
• Ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks up to 60 feet as required.
• Ability to work in varied outdoor environments (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy).
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Working Conditions

While most equipment has air conditioning, there will be times when other responsibilities may require periods of work in all weather conditions including heat, cold, wet, dry, and dusty.
