About the role
The Mobile Engineer builds and scales iOS and Android applications that serve as primary interfaces for user-facing products. The role covers architecture, feature development, performance, release automation, and production reliability across mobile platforms. You will work with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and data teams to turn product requirements into fast, accessible, and resilient mobile experiences. The team values engineers who can make sound platform-specific decisions while maintaining shared standards across the mobile stack.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship production features for iOS and Android using Swift, Kotlin, SwiftUI, Jetpack Compose, or established cross-platform components where appropriate
- Design mobile architecture, navigation, state management, networking, and local persistence for applications with complex user workflows
- Integrate REST and GraphQL APIs, authentication flows, push notifications, analytics, deep linking, and third-party SDKs
- Improve application performance, startup time, crash rates, battery usage, accessibility, and behavior across a broad range of devices
- Establish automated testing with XCTest, XCUITest, JUnit, Espresso, or equivalent frameworks, and maintain reliable CI/CD pipelines for mobile releases
- Monitor production health using crash reporting, performance telemetry, feature flags, and staged rollout practices; investigate and resolve high-impact issues
- Partner in code reviews, technical design discussions, and platform standards that improve maintainability across the mobile engineering organization
Requirements
- 3–8 years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 2 years building and shipping production iOS or Android applications
- Strong proficiency in Swift or Kotlin, with practical experience in the relevant platform SDKs, lifecycle patterns, concurrency, and UI frameworks
- Experience delivering mobile features end to end, including API integration, offline or degraded-network behavior, secure storage, analytics, and release management
- Solid understanding of mobile architecture patterns such as MVVM, unidirectional data flow, dependency injection, modularization, and reusable component design
- Hands-on experience with automated testing, Git-based development workflows, CI/CD, app-store release processes, and production observability
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience
- Bonus: Experience with both iOS and Android, Kotlin Multiplatform or React Native, SwiftUI and Jetpack Compose, mobile security, accessibility standards, or high-scale consumer applications
