Mobile Engineer (Boston)

About the role

We are seeking a mobile engineer to build our first native mobile app using React Native. This role is foundational and involves building the mobile app from scratch, making key architectural decisions, and setting patterns for the rest of the team.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain React Native apps in production
• Work on integrating with HealthKit for various functionalities
• Write product requirements documents and perform QA
• Collaborate with design, operations, and clinical stakeholders
• Operate in an environment of significant ambiguity

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building mobile apps, with meaningful production experience in React Native
• Strong understanding of native iOS and/or Android development (Swift, Kotlin)
• Experience with Expo, including build tooling, OTA updates, and native module configuration
• Proficiency with TypeScript and React
• Experience architecting shared code between mobile and web codebases
• Familiarity with modern backend frameworks (Ruby on Rails and Postgres preferred)

• Willingness to work on our Next.js web frontend
• Comfortable working closely with design, operations, and clinical stakeholders
• Excitement about the prospect of digging into the messy complexities of the American healthcare system

Benefits

Our compensation range is between $150,000 - $225,000 annually, with equity options included.

Minimum of 3 days per week in the office, ideally 4 or 5.
