Mobile Engineer

CBRE is looking for Building Engineers to support several facilities in the Everett, WA area, performing repairs and maintenance on buildings, industrial systems, equipment, and grounds. This role involves extensive daily travel within the Everett area and requires living within a designated radius of the job site.

About the role

As a Mobile Building Engineer, you will provide support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function, focusing on maintaining facility and building systems to applicable standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and repairs to mechanical, industrial, plumbing, structural, life safety, and control systems to keep facilities operational and up to standard.
• Review assigned work orders, estimate time and materials for repairs, and maintain inventory of supplies and tools.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs to extend the life of building machinery and systems; handle repairs and emergency maintenance as needed.
• Inspect building and industrial systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, to ensure equipment operates within design capabilities and meets environmental conditions.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives related to building operations and safety.
• Operate company-issued vehicles for daily work responsibilities.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
• Coach others and share expertise within your discipline and across related job functions.
• Lead by example, modeling behaviors consistent with CBRE’s RISE values, and work to build consensus and agreement among teams.
• Impact customer, operational, project, or service activities within your team and related teams.

Requirements

• Currently authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Ability to perform each duty satisfactorily, including commercial and industrial maintenance.
• Experience with mechanical systems (e.g., overhead doors), electrical systems (e.g., 3-phase, lighting/ballast), and plumbing.
• Knowledge of Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) and OSHA 10 is a plus.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
• 07A Commercial Electrical License.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of four (4) years of proven experience as a building engineer.
• Universal EPA license required; mobile maintenance experience highly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and periodic checks.

Qualifications

• Certification in two or more of the following: Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC and Refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair.
• CFC Certification.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
• Ability to analyze solutions using technical experience and apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Pay

The minimum hourly rate for the Mobile Engineer position is $48.00 per hour, and the maximum hourly rate is $50.00 per hour. Compensation will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
