Mobile Diesel Mechanic/Technician (2109)

About the Role

As a Mobile Diesel Mechanic/Technician, you’ll be the expert our customers rely on to keep their fleets on the road. This field-based role is perfect for skilled technicians who enjoy independence and variety in their work. You’ll perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers, including emergency roadside service when needed. Equipped with a fully stocked company service truck, top-tier tools, and a supportive team, you’ll tackle new challenges daily and take pride in delivering safe, reliable, and efficient service that keeps America moving.

Responsibilities

• Perform onsite preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers in a mobile field environment.
• Handle emergency road service calls with confidence and urgency.
• Respond to dispatch requests for scheduled and unscheduled service or maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and air systems.
• Use advanced diagnostic tools, including handheld computers and precision instruments, to identify and fix issues.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs.
• Road test vehicles to ensure repairs meet quality standards.
• Stay productive and efficient, meeting or exceeding industry repair times.
• Work with vendors to source parts and maintain operations.
• Maintain and inspect a company-issued service truck, ensuring safety compliance.
• Support the team as needed in various tasks.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on diesel tech experience with Class 6-8 trucks and trailers.
• DOT inspection and air brake repair expertise.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and drivers.
• Proficiency with mobile apps, navigation systems, and digital tools for documentation.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Independent, dependable, and self-motivated with a positive, safety-first attitude.
• Must be 23+ with a clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
• Provide your own hand tools (all other equipment supplied).

Work Environment

Work in dynamic, high-traffic areas where safety and precision are critical. Exposure to dust, diesel fumes, noise, chemicals, oils, and grease is typical. Requires lifting heavy equipment, bending, kneeling, crawling, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
