About The Role
As a Mobile Diesel Mechanic/Technician, you'll be the expert our customers rely on to keep their fleets on the road. This field-based role is perfect for skilled technicians who enjoy independence and variety in their work. You'll perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers, including emergency roadside service when needed. Geared up with your own, fully equipped company service truck, top-tier tools, and a supportive team, you'll tackle new challenges every day and take pride in delivering safe, reliable, and efficient service that keeps America moving.
Responsibilities
- Perform onsite preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers in a mobile field environment.
- Handle emergency road service calls with confidence and urgency.
- Respond to dispatch requests for scheduled and unscheduled service or maintenance.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and air systems—everything that keeps a fleet running strong.
- Use advanced diagnostic tools, including handheld computers and precision instruments, to identify and fix issues fast.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repairs.
- Road test vehicles to ensure every repair meets top-quality standards.
- Stay productive and efficient, meeting or beating industry-standard repair times.
- Work with trusted vendors to source parts and keep operations moving.
- Maintain a company-issued service truck, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, and ensure safety compliance.
- Support team members as needed—we work together to get the job done.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of hands-on diesel tech experience working on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers.
- DOT inspection and air brake repair expertise to keep fleets rolling safely.
- Strong communication skills to connect with customers and drivers.
- Comfortable using mobile apps, navigation systems, and digital tools to document repairs.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions at customer yards.
- Independent, dependable, and self-motivated with a safety-first mindset.
- Must be 23+ with a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license.

Work Environment
- Work in dynamic, high-traffic areas where safety and precision are key.
- Exposure to dust, diesel fumes, and noise typical of a shop or yard environment.
- Safely handle chemicals, oils, and grease as part of repair work.
- Lift, move, and position heavy equipment or components.
- Stay active—bending, kneeling, crawling, and crouching to access vehicle components.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions—rain or shine.
Schedule
Sunday–Thursday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
Pay
Competitive pay starting at $32–$38/hour, based on experience.
