Mobile Dental Clinic Driver

About the role

This is a full-time, fixed-term (6-month) position with the possibility of becoming permanent or receiving an extension based on performance. The Mobile Dental Clinic Driver coordinates the organization and delivery of services for mobile dental van clinic site visits and other Office of Community Oral Health program sites, performing varied clinical and administrative duties while ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Drives university vehicles and transports equipment and staff to clinic sites as needed.
• Participates in vehicle setups and tear-downs to prepare for each move.
• Coordinates and schedules locations and facility needs for remote clinics.
• Ensures cleaning of vehicles, inside and out.
• Performs administrative duties when at the home site, including helping with repair/replacement of clinic equipment and vehicle maintenance.
• Maintains, orders, and keeps accurate inventories of clinic and office supplies.
• Participates in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of clinical documents, including patient records.
• Engages in data entry of clinical activities and provides reports.
• At away sites, opens and closes vehicles daily, ensures operation of generators, and troubleshoots equipment problems.
• Assists with administrative support duties, including patient registration, scheduling, and problem resolution.
• May prepare, maintain, and distribute patient materials and supplies.
• Willing to learn about dental instrument management and sterilization through in-house training.
• May dispense dental materials and instruments, clean and sterilize instruments, and prepare treatment areas.
• Provides transportation, setup, and operational support for other Community Health Programs, such as health fairs and local clinic operations.
• Ensures compliance with all university and state policies and procedures, including HIPAA.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• Class A driver’s license required.
• Must complete in-house CPR/BLS training upon hiring.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• General knowledge of vehicles.
• Willingness to learn about dental clinical equipment.
• Bilingual skills in English and Spanish.

Pay

The hourly rate range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00. When extending an offer, USC considers factors such as scope and responsibilities, candidate experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, and external market considerations.
