About the role
We are hiring for a Mobile Crisis Management Responder / QP / Qualified Professional in New Hanover, Pender, Brunswick, and Balden Counties. This is a regular position.
Job Responsibilities
- Provides acute face-to-face crisis support to individuals experiencing Mental Health (MH), Substance Abuse (SA), or Intellectual/Developmental Disability (IDD) crisis.
- Delivers interventions in residential, school, workplace, and community settings that are strength-based and focused on recovery, symptom reduction, increased coping skills, and achieving the highest level of community functioning.
- Reduces immediate risk, avoids unnecessary hospitalization, and links individuals to appropriate follow-up care.
- Facilitates relationships and serves as a link between the company, parents, guardians, local agencies, and the community.
- Supports clients in developing various skill-building activities, including daily and community living skills, socialization skills, adaptation skills, and behavior and anger management.
- Coordinates “first response" resources for consumers and their natural support networks on a 24/7/365 basis.
- Engages in case management functions, linking and arranging for services and referrals.
- Maintains communication with other clinical/professional staff, standardizes procedures, and expedites linkage to appropriate long-term services.
- Maintains monitoring of service utilization to ensure effectiveness, appropriateness, and alignment with crisis and safety plans, and the MCM service plan.
- Provides recommendations and referrals as needed.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of one year’s experience in providing crisis management services in assertive outreach, assertive community treatment, emergency department, or other 24/7 service settings.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation for timely face-to-face crisis response and resource linking.
- Education: Bachelor Degree (Human Services field preferred) or higher, with relevant experience in the population served.
- Licenses, Provisional Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, Permits issued by governing boards regulating human service professions.
- Criminal background check, name check in registries, drug testing, education verification, and other credentialing based on position requirements.
- Proof of employment history or references (if required).
