MN Farm Service Technician

About the role

Select Genetics is seeking a Farm Service Technician to support turkey farms in the Willmar area. This position involves on-site support, equipment installation, repairs, and maintenance. It also includes educating employees and Farm Managers on animal welfare, biosecurity, safety, and production standards.

Responsibilities

• Support the Team - Oversee farm operations, educate the team on safety, biosecurity, and animal welfare standards, complete tests for bird health, troubleshoot issues, and resolve concerns.
• Equipment and Service - Troubleshoot problems, guide the team on equipment usage, create reports, and suggest equipment upgrades while managing inventory.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED
• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture preferred
• Strong relationship building and excellent communication skills
• Ability to manage workflow efficiently
• Physical ability to lift up to 55 pounds
• Problem-solving and mechanical skills
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of safety requirements

Pay

Compensation starts at $71,000 and is based on experience and education.
