Ichor Systems has an immediate opening for a Weld Operator 1 located in Sauk Rapids, MN.
About the role
Operate various welding machines including hand welding, TIG welding, and orbital welding of stainless steel and other high-purity materials. Follow Ichor’s Standard Operating Procedures for manufacturing duties, study prints and specifications, and complete finished welds using specialized computer welding equipment. Perform inspections in accordance with prints and maintain quality and quantity performance levels.
Responsibilities
- Basic PC skills for manufacturing
- Experience working in a high-purity clean room environment
- Mechanically inclined with visual acuity and manual dexterity
- Handle fragile products, perform repetitive tasks, and demonstrate safety awareness
- Proficiently use approved hand gauges to inspect component quality
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment
- Sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Read and comprehend technical drawings and documents
- Perform basic math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, percentages, and decimals
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, leads, and peers both verbally and in writing
- Recognize deviations from accepted practices
- Basic understanding of mechanics, flow control elements, and MRP concepts
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 1-2+ years of manufacturing or related work experience (semiconductor industry preferred)
- Commitment to quality and a customer-focused mindset
- Successful completion of a 2-year professional trade program in Welding Technology or equivalent, or currently enrolled in such a program
- Basic math, blueprint reading, and weld-to-print skills
- 1-2 years’ work experience performing TIG welding of stainless steel, or less experience with a Welding Technology degree (or currently enrolled in a Welding Technology program)
- Must be a US Person (citizen, national, refugee, asylee, or lawful permanent resident) due to ITAR compliance
Pay
The pay range is $16.39 - $27.88 hourly, non-exempt, plus shift differential if applicable. Pay is determined by role, level, location, and job-related factors including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure, and education or training.
