About the role

We’re looking for an entry-level Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) to join our team at KOLN, 10/11 News - the #1 station in Lincoln. Responsibilities

• Generate original story ideas for both broadcast and digital platforms that reflect the unique spirit of Central Nebraska.
• Step behind the desk as a fill-in anchor, taking on producing and writing responsibilities to ensure a seamless, high-energy newscast.
• Create compelling content for our website and social media channels, reaching our audience wherever they are.
• Use industry-standard tools like ENPS and Edius to edit and produce high-quality visuals and scripts under tight deadlines.
• Represent Local4 at public functions and community events, building the relationships that lead to the best stories.
• Collaborate with our award-winning team to push the boundaries of what local journalism can be in a digital-first world.

Requirements

• A college degree in Journalism (or equivalent experience) and a burning desire to tell stories that matter.
• Experience from a professional news station and comfort both in the field and on the anchor desk.
• Comfort with ENG equipment and a working knowledge of ENPS and Edius (or the ability to learn quickly).
• Ability to thrive under pressure and deliver quality work under tight deadlines.
• Authentic connection with the community, demonstrated on-air and online.
• Creative communication skills using visuals and writing to make stories engaging.
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
