About the role
The MMA Coach is responsible for ensuring a positive customer experience, delivering great member service, and achieving supplement revenue. Coaches drive the successful attainment of revenue goals for private training and supplements. This position requires a minimum of one day on the weekend.
Responsibilities
- Sell and conduct private and small group training with members.
- Assist members and encourage involvement in private training.
- Ensure accurate administration of client programs, supplement purchases, measurement tracking, and workout programs.
- Arrive on time, prepared, and attentive for training appointments.
- Assist in revenue-generating activities such as complimentary workouts, supplement booths, body fat tables, seminars, and workshops.
- Sell training sessions, execute prospecting strategies, conduct guest tours, and complete sales through the turnover process.
- Achieve personal monthly revenue objectives and minimum standards for private coaching and supplements.
- Perform "Starter Sessions" and prospecting activities.
- Focus on changing lives through service, science, and sales as a brand ambassador of UFC Gym’s "Train Different" philosophy.
- Bring T.R.A.I.N (Timely, Ready, Aware, Inspiring, Noble) to life.
- Conduct safe and effective private MMA training sessions.
- Maintain organization and neat presentation of the fitness floor and training spaces.
- Follow all policies and procedures regarding payment transactions and UFC Gym Employee Handbook guidelines.
- Document daily workouts for liability (adherence to national certification standards).
- Be knowledgeable of club facilities and services.
- Adhere to the agreed-upon schedule set by the MMA Manager.
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of private training techniques from assessment to program design.
- Working knowledge of the dotFIT program and software.
- Ability to adjust and operate all fitness equipment.
- Knowledge of company policies, practices, and procedures, including emergency and safety protocols.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service focus.
- Ability to generate, maintain, and demonstrate a friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitude.
- Professional response to requests and inquiries from guests, members, and staff.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions clearly and concisely.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Basic record-keeping skills and experience operating office equipment (computers, calculators, fax, photocopiers).
- Computer proficiency with basic skills in Word and Excel.
- Ability to work, set up, and execute successful weekends.
- Extroverted, self-motivated, and customer-service minded.
- Adherence to meal and rest break periods, clocking in and out for all shift times.
Qualifications
- Current CPR/AED certification.
- Certification from an organization recognized by UFC Gym and/or Pro-Am fight background.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 4-year degree in a related field (preferred).
- Current DotFIT certification (preferred).
- Minimum 1 year of related experience.
- TrustLine Certified.
- LiveScan clearance.
- State-specific certifications may be required.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand for prolonged periods.
- Physical effort includes lifting heavy weights, squatting, bending, reaching, spotting, and prolonged standing and walking.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 45+ pounds.
